Tuesday Ryan-Hart
The four of us - Deb, Phil, Susan, and I - are so excited to be offering this upcoming training on Hosting Strategic Change and the interest has been so strong, that at our recent design session we decided to take a pause and name for ourselves and share with others, What do we mean when we say strategic change?
Isn’t all change strategic? Isn’t every Art of Hosting concerned with strategy?
Well, yes and no and maybe - to all of the above. That’s an entirely different blog post, but I really want to share what we got clear on during our design session.
We asked ourselves the question…What do we mean by strategic change? Our answers are below.
For us, Strategic Change Means…
Building capacity of the people that they work with not just themselves, discerning how to use these practices in their role, strategy that leads to action (Susan)
How you hold people as you do this type of work, Considering complexity and the bigger context of the whole (Deb)
Practicing authentic relationships, interiority of the change agent, living systems theory (Phil)
Over time (not events-based) work, hosting conversation as one of many strategies, increasing people’s resourcefulness, change making as a primary outcome (Tues)
It was an amazing conversations. We had so many places of alignment and nodding our heads at each other’s thoughts, and some places where it felt like each of us was bringing a very unique perspective.
And that’s what we’ll bring this training about strategic change - the places where we agree, and the places where we diverge. After all, both are places of great learning for us.
It’s shaping up to be a really great training. We hope you’ll join us there!
